Swifty's relaxed

23-year-old Rotherham lad Ben Swift is relaxed in the run-up before his first Tour de France which starts this Saturday. Whilst other riders are obsessed with last-minute preparations, complaints about anti-doping control,  training and press conferences, the Rotherham-born Team Sky rider is concerning himself on Twitter with how a snail - named Sammy, apparently - managed to cross the 15cm gap between the ground and the radiator grill of his car.
Ben Swift, asker of important questions and the cutest rider on the professional circuit (says Mrs. Cyclopunk). Oh, and he's bloody fast on a bike too.
Swifty has been making a name for himself on the professional racing circuit for some time now, having won the King of the Mountains title in the 2007 Tour of Britain and Giro del Reggioni and a host of other honours including third place overall in this year's Tour Down Under and stage wins in three other important races. There's every reason to expect he'll be taking over as Sky's top man in another three of four years and if he can keep a cool head in times like these, expect him to add a lot more trophies to his cabinet.
